The Wild Atlantic Way
The longest defined coastal touring route in the world from Donegal to West Cork. Achill Island is one of the highlights with its 5 Blue Flag Beaches and dramatic cliff scenery.

The Blueway is a sequence of kayak and snorkel trails on the Wild Atlantic Way in Co. Mayo and Co. Galway that gives a glance of another world.

The Great Western Greenway is a cycle trail of 43.5km following the route of the Great Western Railway line from Westport to Achill, which closed in 1937. It is the perfect trail for stress free scenic cycling.

"The desire to live in Achill was a purely emotional one. I wanted to live there, not as a visitor but to identify myself with its life and to see it every day with all its moods; in wind and rain, in storm, in summer and in winter, and by painting it in all these conditions to find out if I could, the driving force behind its attractiveness." - Paul Henry RHA
